We provide complete structural analysis with a detailed proposal & construction contract, along with the engineering and submittal to the Department of Building and Safety.


After the city’s approval, we then provide all phases of construction for a complete building project. Our experienced team of engineers & in house crews handles all the steps to ensure your multi-family property complies with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) Ordinance 183893.  


As a group of skilled professionals, we have completed more than 50 soft story projects in the Los Angeles Area.


Our administrative team is available between the hours of 9am-6pm M-F to provide consultation to help you to understand everything about the new soft story retrofit ordinance. 

What is a soft-story building?

A soft-story building is a structure which has a weaker first floor and is unable to carry the weight of the stories above during an earthquake. The first floor generally would have large openings in the perimeter walls such as garages, tuck under parking or even large windows.


What is retrofit?

Retrofit is an improvement to your building by altering or adding any structural elements.


What is Tuck-Under Parking?

This type of parking is parking beneath the 2nd floor.

Many homeowners will decide to hire a contractor to do the retrofit work instead of doing it themselves. Costs may vary depending on the location and size of the house, contractor fees, and the amount of materials and work involved. If the homeowner is an experienced do-it-yourselfer, a retrofit can cost less than $3,000. Please apply below!
